When it comes to calculating expenses related to a party or special event, Microsoft® Excel® can be your best pal, but... not by in and of itself. Excel on its own is only a blank tool one must build upon. However, Excel can be your best friend when you have a ready-made solution for a specific purpose.

To help you plan your party rather than spend hours building your own spreadsheet, we have created this Party Budget Worksheet. Nobody likes those not-uncommon last-minute shopping emergencies. Certainly you do not want to be the one who forgot inviting a good friend because preparations were hectic. It only takes a tiny detail to make the difference between a successful event and a disaster. No worries! Now you can use this party budget spreadsheet to organize your party and plan all expenses related to it. This spreadsheet will take good care of keeping track of the important things and would let you focus on making the actual party.

How to Use this Party Budget Spreadsheet

The party budget spreadsheet is a straightforward and pretty much ready for use template. To get started, you will need to set a budget. After that planning out your expenses becomes just a breeze. Create a list of all the expenditures you are going to have by placing them into relevant categories. To do this, select the category from the drop-down list in the category column.

Categorizing your expenses helps to allocate specific parts of your budget to any given category. By doing this it becomes crystal clear exactly how much you can spend. You can also add more rows to your budget if you are running out of space when adding your items to the list. Also, you may rest assured that if certain expenses exceeded the set amount, a negative variance will be displayed in the cell labeled "Difference". That gives you a quick reminder to curb your spending enthusiasm or perhaps to revisit your budget.

Additional features

The design of this worksheet will let you use it in the Excel Online App and on an iPad, provided that you have an Excel for iPad app installed. You can, of course, download this template directly to OneDrive and use it on the go.
